Speak Joy
Proverbs 15:23 “A man has joy by the answer of his mouth, And a word spoken in due season, how good it is!”
Do you know that YOU control your own Joy. You do!!! A man has joy by the answer of his mouth. What we say matters. It affects our emotions, our attitude and our outlook (how we view things). Jesus told us in Luke 6:45 “A good man out of the good treasure of his heart brings forth good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart brings forth evil. For out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks.” Whatever is inside of your heart is going to come out……so what determines what is in our heart?
That is easy. What are you putting into it? Yes, just as you fill your stomach with food so that your body will have energy. You must fill your mind and your heart with the right things. What you put in matters. If I am going to be someone who speaks joy into my own situation, there must be a source of in dwelling joy within me. Joy that is beyond my emotions. Something deeper.
Jesus was speaking to those who chose to follow Him in John 15:11 “These things I have spoken to you, that My joy may remain in you, and that your joy may be full.” He was/is telling His followers that He is giving us something with the Words He has spoken. He is giving us His joy. Joy that will remain. Joy that will fill us. His Word within us. His Spirit within us, bringing us joy that remains and fills.
Paul states in Romans 14:17 “for the kingdom of God is not eating and drinking, but righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit.”
We are to be filled with His Word and His Spirit so that when we speak there is a release of what is on the inside of us into this world around us. We have the power to speak joy! We have the power to speak a word in due season!
Here is your “word in due season”. It is time for you become all God wants you to be. Fill yourself with His Word, His Spirit, His presence and then let Him flow out of you with full effect. Allow Him to move in your life and through your life. He has called you to greatness.
PRAYER: Heavenly Father, fill me with Your Spirit, Your Word and Your presence. Let me be everything You have called me to be. In Jesus Name. Amen.
