Strong Enough

How strong are you daddy?  That was a question one of my sons asked me many years ago when he was a small child.  It took me a moment to reply because the question caught me off guard.  I thought about it and said, “strong enough for whatever you need, strong enough”.  That seemed to satisfy him and he ran off to play.  There have been occasions in my life when I wondered if I was really strong enough.  Am I strong enough to keep going through the adversities, strong enough to continue through the difficulties, strong enough to walk through the darkness, strong enough to face the enemy one more time?  Then I realize that no, I am not strong enough on my own but with God, I can do all things, because He is my strength (see Philippians 4:13).

Psalm 18:39 (NKJV) says this: For You have armed me with strength for the battle;
You have subdued under me those who rose up against me.

David faced a lot of difficulties between his anointing and his coronation just as we as believers face many struggles between our birth into His kingdom and our ascension into His presence at our homegoing.  Those struggles are a part of the journey of life but they can be overwhelming and if we are not careful, they can become consuming.  David said of the Lord, “You have armed me with strength for the battle” ….  God has given you all the strength you need!!!!

The source of this strength is seen in Psalm 18:1 “I will love you, O Lord, my strength.”

God doesn’t just give us strength; HE IS OUR STRENGTH!!!!!  He is strong enough for whatever you need.

Psalm 18:2 continues with “The Lord is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer; My God, my strength, in whom I will trust; My shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold.”  Do you see what David saw?  Do you hear what David heard?

GOD IS……my rock, my fortress, my deliverer, my God, my Strength, my shield, my stronghold……. whatever you might need Him to be, He is.  He just is. He is strong enough for whatever you might be facing.  He is your strength, your shield, your rock…. Hold fast to Him in faith.

PRAYER: Heavenly Father, help me to trust in You for my strength, my strength comes from You.  In Jesus Name.  Amen.
